Greetings

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

On behalf of the Organizing Committee of the Prevent ASIA 2016, it is my great pleasure to invite you to share with us the exciting scientific event, which is taking place in Tokyo on July 17th, 2016 as a part of the JACR 2016 (Japanese Association of Cardiac Rehabilitation) Annual Meeting from July 16th to 17th, 2016.

Cardiovascular diseases are the major causes of morbidity and mortality even in Asian countries as well as American and European countries. The urbanization and nutritional change from a healthy Asian traditional diet to a western-style diet are associated with reduced daily activity and increased prevalence of obesity, multiple risk factors, and cardiovascular events. The social responsibility and the health care system to these epidemic concerns are still inadequate. To address these global problems, effective comprehensive prevention programs should be implemented, and the health care system should be redesigned.

The Prevent ASIA 2016 has been focused on the social and clinical approaches for developing comprehensive preventive programs of cardiovascular diseases. The symposium will feature invited four distinguished speakers. We believe that their opinions and discussions will provide participants with an up-to-date perspective and comprehensive knowledge on the important subjects. We also welcome the submission of abstracts regarding cardiovascular prevention and cardiac rehabilitation to the JACR 2016 International Session.

We would like to encourage you all to support and participate in the Prevent ASIA 2016 and contribute to its ultimate goal “Promising Healthy Heart with Promising Future of Preventive Cardiology in Asia”.
We look forward to welcoming you to Tokyo in 2016!

Best Regards,

Greetings from the President of the Japanese Association of Cardiac Rehabilitation

The Japanese Association of Cardiac Rehabilitation (JACR) was formally established in 1995, having been preceded by the Japanese Cardiac Rehabilitation Research Conference convened in 1978. The objectives of JACR are to promote widespread implementation of cardiac rehabilitation and improve its quality, and thus to improve QOL and long-term prognosis of patients with cardiovascular diseases, by promoting scientific research on cardiac rehabilitation and developing human resources through education, training and academic exchange, thereby contributing to health and welfare of citizens in Japan and the world.

Cardiovascular disease is one of the major health problems in both women and men globally and is a growing epidemic in Asian countries. We need to combine our efforts across the world to promote cardiovascular disease prevention and rehabilitation.

It is our hope that the Prevent ASIA 2016 will help to improve and advance the patient‘s health care in Asian countries. We welcome individuals who are involved in the scientific, medical and technological aspects related to cardiovascular prevention and rehabilitation. Please come and join us!

Best Regards,
